I took this photo two summers ago, when my father last visited us in the British Virgin Islands. (Daddy, you need to come back, it's been two years.) The color contrast between his turquoise shirt and the brown rocks is so inspiring. I like the picture as it is. But to use it in my work as a photograph, I'd like to reduce it to basic elements: color and space. For a creative idea, I tried blurring the image in a picture program, but couldn't figure out how. Instead, maybe I'll use the color combination in a group of paintings.
By the way, this photo has not been digitally enhanced. The colors really were that intense during our slightly-overcast adventure.
