18 x 12 inches, encaustic on panel
This is one of several new paintings I completed recently. It needs a title....I have a few ideas.

I like how the relationship
between planes is such that
tension exists. I also like
diagonals as opposed to
90 degree angles in abstraction
because symmetry is still a
factor but the eye is directed
unconventionally. Organic and
inorganic are wonderful ways
to create tension as well and
I see that in the relationship
between bubbly texture and the
linear qualities of the picture.

Pete-
Thanks for commenting. I've been utilizing the diagonal approach in some of my new pieces; it alters balance and movement of the composition much more than I imagined, and I'm quite pleased with that.

your welcome...it is nice to
talk with other artists in
the blogsphere, a place where
the gallery system can be
bypassed.
