maybe it is the digitalfoto, but I would assumethat there was a dark greenunderpainting if you hadnot said this was blackand white.don't take that as a criticism, but as an observation about whatthe viewer sees and whatthe creator intends.
Oh, not at all, Pete. You're not far off, regarding seeing a hint of color: Although I used no green, I did allow the birch wood to be revealed in parts of the white. And when mixing black and encaustic medium, I added a touch of red- so the black has some warmth. It's fascinating, the differences between what's intended and what's actually seen and felt.
