11th piece in the reductive watercolor series...

Color variations in the neutral zone are quite apparent.
The texture of cold press paper adds an element which works well with this series' direction.  And to think I originally planned to use hot press, smooth paper...

I'm liking your foray into watercolors. You've so tightly controlled the color play from vibrant to neutral!

tightly controlled is the key. although with our damp weather lately, some pieces are not so tight, as you will see in upcoming posts. part of the exercise is walking that fine line of letting the watercolor do its thing while maintaining "just enough" control.
